Happy New Year 2010

I certainly didn't think I'd wait a year to make another entry for my "blog", but....I guess life sorta took over in 2009. Is updating my blog going to be a New Year's resolution? Should be....we'll see.
Right now it is snowing outside. Something quite uncommon for Huntsville, Alabama. It's nice. Kid's are home from school and both have had great days back after the holidays.
PTA duties are ramping up with bulletin boards needing updating, the Book Fair coming up in February along with several grant/scholoarship applications. January looks to be a busy month.
I'm also awaiting a potential part-time job offer. The hours would be fantastic for me to stay with the PTA, be available for the boys in the afternoon and not have to give up teaching at church...we'll see.

Sweet land of liberty

Today we are 10 days into Barack Obama's new administration and the stimulus package just passed the House yesterday. Since my home page is Fox News, I read stories this morning that makes my heart heavy. Our country definitely needs change. I don't know where we are gonna be in 4 years and its a scary time. Dad's are killing their families in murder/suicide. A black man on trial for a double murder has used being subjected to gang culture as his defense. Really?? A mom and step-dad brutally beat and murdered their 2 year old and put her in a cooler..in the garage. What? Where have people's consciences gone? Why has our judicial system failed us so bad to release a man charged in August of last year on attempted murder and is now charged with shooting Isaac's 1st gymnastic teacher in the FACE? I know there will always be sin, but.......it is time that the consequences start matching the crime!
